Adama Ndiaye, known as Adama Paris, the name of the brand she created, was born in Kinshasa and is a Senegalese fashion designer.
\n<\/span>
\nRestoring Africa's legitimacy and identity through fashion, while others choose writing, art, politics\u2026 A woman of character and conviction, tenacious, it took many qualities to overcome all these prejudices. The road has been long, but beautiful, since the first Black Fashion Week in Dakar in 2002. A true "one-woman show," she has allowed designers from across the continent to emancipate themselves and African fashion to gain visibility on the international stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Devastated by the accidental death of her sister, who assisted her in her professional activities, she put an end to her work. A terrible ordeal that left her reeling, but one she managed to overcome.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

She returned to the forefront, more determined and stronger than ever. Her comeback was marked by a collaboration with the Fondation Cartier in 2017 and another with Daniel Hechter the following year. She launched her concept store in Paris, Saargale at the Viaduc des Arts, where she exhibited her collections as well as those of other African stylists and designers. Then, she renewed herself by launching the first edition of the Black Fashion Xperience (BFX).<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>which features a talk on cultural appropriation and took place in the fashion capital, Paris at the Bormann Moreno Circus.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
