“Dictatorial Excesses in Ivory Coast” published by Editions du Net.

Franklin Nyamsi Wa Kamerun publishes here an essay devoted to the denunciation of a very scandalous dictatorial drift underway in Côte d'Ivoire, particularly since the beginning of Alassane Dramane Ouattara's second presidential term. A true alarm bell sounds from this book. Starting from a massive argument reconstructing in the introduction, the evidence of the capture of the Ivorian state by a clan determined to trample on the norms of separation of powers, to trample on respect for fundamental freedoms, to disfigure the requirements of good governance and political ethics, the author reveals the disappointments of the Ouattara era. The essayist then reveals to us, written since 2016 in particular, a series of alerts that already attest to the trivialization of political evil in this country. Franklin Nyamsi Wa Kamerun—in line with his previous work—finally emphasizes the democratic hope embodied by the generational leadership of Guillaume Kigbafori Soro and the horizon of this promise: the urgency of the rule of law in Côte d'Ivoire and throughout Africa. This book deserves to be read and reflected upon if one wants to understand the political future emerging in this important West African country.
