Moctar Dembélé and Gérard Niyondiko

Two students from the International Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering, one from Burkina Faso and the other from Burundi, have developed a soap that repels mosquitoes with its scent. Thanks to one of its ingredients, it also kills Anopheles mosquito larvae, preventing their proliferation in stagnant water. Made with lemongrass, marigold, shea butter, and other secret ingredients, Faso Soap is designed to be accessible to all, produced from 100% local resources, and protecting its users from malaria.
